Meet Patrick Horne, Sports Speed Specialist

Patrick is a former professional football player (“Arena Football League”), and world-class sprinter. He played defensive back for eight years with four different teams. Rochester Bridge, Quad City Steam Wheelers, Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings, and Albany Firebirds. He had 18 career interceptions, and over 200 tackles.

Recently he has begun, and is training to be a member of the USA 2018 Winter Olympic Team, completing with the bobsled team as Push Man. During the summer of 2016, while training and vying for selection, he recorded one of the top scores at combine camp in Bradenton, Florida. 

Coming from Pahokee Florida, Patrick attended Santaucles High School in Palm Beach, Florida. An All-State sprinter and football player, after high school he Garden City Community College in Kansas for two years before transferring to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. While at Garden City Patrick earned Junior College All American honors in 200 meters, and 400 meters respectfully. At the University of Louisiana at Lafayette he played defensive back on the football team, and ran sprints on the track team. As an All-Conference sprinter, he placed third at 55 meters, and runner-up at 200 meters. Running the fastest 40 yard time in school history (4.25 seconds) in the spring of his junior year, he earned sponsorship as a post collegiate runner by Athletics East Track Club, and Reebok athletic company.

Also, winning the USATF New England Indoor Championship 60 meters in 6.65 seconds, as well as Silver medalist in 200 meters in 21.23 seconds, earned him a top 50 world ranking in the 200 meters, and qualified him for USATF Indoor Championships.

All accomplished self-trained. Patrick currently employed by Polk County School as a Physical Education Teacher for grades K-5, as well as part time as Recreation Associate at the Winter Haven Cultural Arts Center. Patrick’s personal best are 10.17 seconds for 100 meters, 20.55 seconds for 200 meters, and 45.89 seconds for 400 meters. Patrick has a Master’s Degree in Sports Management, and specializes in Physical Education, Athletic Training, and Exercise.

In addition he is certified In Fitness and Nutrition, USATF Track and Field Coach Level 1, Speed and Explosion Level II, CPI, CPR, FA and Medication. Currently Coach Horne designs, implements, and monitors athlete’s progress through rigorous training and workout plans. He also administers weight loss, as well as maximum performance education programs for children. Possessing the ability to collaborate, identify opportunities, and talk action to accomplish and achieve individual’s personal athletic goals. Training athletes from high school to professional to improve their overall performance utilizing speed, agility, and power.
